‘Born in Llandaff, Wales, to Norwegian parents, Dahl served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, in which he became a flying ace and intelligence agent. He rose to prominence in the 1940s with works for both children and adults, and became one of the world's bestselling authors. His short stories are known for their unexpected endings, and his children's books for their unsentimental, often very dark humour.’
Roald Dahl is one of the most successful and well-known of all children’s writers. His books, which are read by children the world over, include Danny the Champion of the World, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, Matilda, The Great Mouse Plot and Other Tales of Childhood, The Witches, As well as his books he is famous for his pictures it gave you more of an idea of what the story was about and gave you more of open mind. On reading more of the story I never wanted the book to finish. Roald Dahl books, It is entertaining all the way through because there is always ....( the eyes of someone you know), trust and admire , you will understand completely.
